The art of Courting
‘She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.”
Lord Byron
Sigh….words to make any romantic heart throb! Dating was once an art form. It was called ‘courting’ and it was a very important aspect of the social life. In fact courting was how we found our life long partners. Courting was romantic and intimate without anyone ever taking their clothese off! imagine that! I think it’s time to bring a little courting back to the dating world. It seems everything is so disposable in our current culture. But the cultivation of long term relaionships chould be anything but. When you are looking for local singles in a chat room, why not start creating some interest in the art of courting? Ask what people like to do for dates, or imagine if it were a hundred years ago, what kind of courter whould you e? or how would you like to be courted? Courtley love and omance started long long ago in the age of Chivalry in Medieval Times and why not bring back the beautiful romance of that time, just a little? In fact many knights courted their ladies and loved them and romanced them and they never, ever consummated! Imagine that?
I’m not suggesting that at all but a little delayed gratification can be incredibly fulfilling! Truly getting to know someone, using the power of words and conversation and delicious, wonderful poetry, the deliciousness of flirting, teasing, laughing and joking are all often overlooked in our race to the bedroom, or anywhere we like to get naked for that matter! slow down, savour the moments, delve deeply into those you are interested in and you just might find a more fulfilling romantic or sex life!
